No Idle Hands Over Here!

by Shannan on September 30, 2008

I’ve been planning on writing this post for quite awhile, but it’s kept getting put off. Once you finish reading though, you’ll see why!

I’ve been wanting to share all of the great projects that I am involved in with all of you. I know you have seen like sidebar buttons and badges, but thought you might like to know a bit more about how I ended up with them! Over the past few months, I have made some amazing contacts and have volunteered or been asked to get involved with some of the greatest websites! This post will be full of good ol’ linky love, so please take a minute to check out some of these people and places. They are all WELL worth the click-thru.

Type-A Mom editor

FIrst, I am the Kids Crafts and Activities Editor at Type-A Mom. This site is run by Kelby Carr and features articles by a slew of the great moms, on just about every topic under the sun. Stop by, read a bit, comment on the articles and sign up to be a writer, if you’d like to contribute to my, or any other, category.

BD-Family Button

I have also joined up with Blissfully Domestic online magazine to be a contributor for their Family Bliss channel. I am among nearly 300 of the hottest and smartest writing divas the Web has ever seen. Blissfully Domestic is the brainchild of the infamous Mrs. Fussypants and offers loads of articles, every day, in 14 different topic channels.

Wishpot Baby Expert Badge

Another project that I am so excited to be a part of is my spot as a Mom Expert at Wishpot. If you haven’t checked out Wishpot yet, you don’t know what you’re missing! It is an awesome website that allows you to take your gift wishlist along with you, adding items from any place you shop online. We Mom Experts offer our own advice and insight through our public registry recommendations and guest posting on the Wishpot Blog. I got involved at Wishpot through their Chief Mom officer, the amazing JessicaKnows. If you don’t know her, you should!

Of course, before all of these fun projects comes my freelance clients from my writing business, Powell Creative Services. Needless to say, I’m a little on the busy side, these days![ad#posts]

New Look!

by Shannan on September 28, 2008

Don’t you just hate it when you start something way too late at night, then find yourself still playing with it when the sun is about to come up?!

That’s what I have just done to myself, but it resulted in a totally new look for things around here. If anyone has any comments or suggestions, they are certainly welcome.

I think I like it so far, except for the fact that some of my images from posts have disappeared. I’m pretty sure there’s a fix, but way too tired to figure it out tonight.

Handmade Thomas the Tank Engine Clock

September 21, 2008

Check out what hubby walked in the door with tonight! He made this clock from some scrap wood at work. Is this not the awesomest thing ever!? He’s been hearing nothing but “WOW!” and “COOL!” from both of the little ones. Great job daddy! It’s a hit! Side note: If anyone wants one, hubby is [...]

I Can Cook! Who Knew…

September 17, 2008

*note – A month later, I have finally added the pictures in to this post…I suck, I know, you don’t have to remind me! It’s no surprise with the cost of gas and food right now that money is a bit tight over here. Thursday was hubby’s birthday and there wasn’t much money leftover this [...]

Happy Birthday, Mom

September 13, 2008

Fifty-eight years ago today, one of the world’s most beautiful people made her entrance into this world. Her life wasn’t always perfect, her children didn’t always follow the rules and there were many struggles along the way. But even with all of the curveballs that life threw her way, she always kept a smile on [...]

Wordless Wednesday – Brotherly Love

September 2, 2008

OK, I can’t do the whole “wordless” part, its just not me. Had to share that this was a little more than just brotherly love, K was actually protecting D from a particular scene in a Thomas the Tank Engine episode that always makes him cry. As soon as K realized that the part [...]
