by Shannan on January 30, 2009

I just went and visited my trusty old friend, Random.org to draw the winner for the Protect-a-Bed giveaway.

The winning number was:

Random Integer Generator

Here are your random numbers:

77

Timestamp: 2009-01-31 05:30:29 UTC

Which makes our winner:

Ranee who said “I love that it’s providing allergy relief, but I have to say my favorite feature is that it’s waterproof. I still have a waterbed, yes, it’s 1979 here. Occasionally we spring a leak, so that’s a plus in my book.”

Congratulations! I will pass your email on to the sponsor who will be contacting you to get the size and address information they need to send you your prize.

I’m Fabulously Cool, are YOU?

by Shannan on January 29, 2009

My friend Erin of From Son Up to Son Down has deemed my blog fabulously cool, by awarding me with her own double bloggy award! She recieved two awards at the same time and decided to combine them into one big deal, handing them out to ten awesome bloggers and I was included on that list!

I can now proudly display the This Blog is Fabulous award, alongside the Butterfly Award. How’s that for recognition!?

blog_is_fabulousawardaward_butterfly

Now that I have been bestowed with these high honors, I get to pass these along to ten of my own favorite bloggers. I have so many fabulously cool bloggy friends, picking just a few is tough!

Without further adieu, I am deeming the following bloggers as fabulously cool:

  1. Amy at ResourcefulMommy – Not only is she one cool, smart mama, she throws the best Twitter parties anywhere. She’s one of those people that makes you proud to call her a friend!
  2. Tara at ThisMilitaryMama – This sweetheart is sharing her trials and tribulations as a military wife with a deployed spouse. Stop by and give her some love!
  3. Diane at CrazyMomsJournal – She’s been going through some changes and hasn’t been posting much lately, but she is still absolutely fabulous!
  4. Tara at FeelsLikeHome – If you want great ideas and advice on all things home and family, Tara’s blog is the place to go!
  5. Nikki at TheGuiltyParent – Now that Nikki is turning the blog into a full-fledged ezine, not sure how this works, but hey – she hasn’t officially launched yet, so I’m giving it to her anyway!
  6. Mel at BoxOfChocolates – She has a great blog, with fun posts and awesome giveaways! Oh and she lives near me – one of these days we’ll actually get it together and hang out!
  7. Elizabeth at PartyPlanningProfessor – This lady knows how to party! Check her out for party and celebration tips of all types. (I contribute there too!)
  8. Summer at WiredForNoise – Summer has very strong opinions and is not afraid to share them with her readers. I love her honesty and fearlessness, and am slightly jealous that she has bigger balls than me!
  9. Jessica at ItsMyLife – I adore my good buddy Jessica and love reading about her adventures with her two little girls. Makes it obvious to me just how different boys and girls really are!
  10. YOU!! If you take the time to stop here and read my posts, I think you are fabulously cool, too!

Now it’s your turn…you can now take this award and pass it on to 10 bloggers that you think are great. Just be sure to link back to the person who gave it to you! Have fun!!

January 29, 2009

Do you and your children have a bedtime routine or is trying to get them into bed a free-for-all? I never was a big one on a bedtime routine until I had two babies on my hands and needed to get some sort of order to our evenings. When you have two fighting sleep, something [...]

Charmin Plus with Aloe Review

January 29, 2009

I’m going to start this review off with a funny little story. One day several weeks back, I woke up in the morning and did my usual bathroom run. As I used the last of the toilet paper on the roll, I realized we didn’t have anymore. I grabbed some paper towels and stuck them [...]

A Little Snow Fun with the Kids

January 27, 2009

Last Monday, we had a little snow – the operative word being “little.” I have been whining all night about our sad lack of snow around here, after hearing that we’re due for another “storm” of two whopping inches tonight. Two inches that will be immediately followed by rain that will wash it all away.  [...]

Protect-A-Bed Review and Giveaway

January 23, 2009

For as long as I can remember, I have had allergies. The biggest culprits for me are dust, pollen and mildew, most of which are present all year round. I have woken up nearly every morning of my life with a stuffy nose, crusty eyes and a sore throat, to varying degrees. Allergies are a [...]

Glimpse Skin Care Review

January 23, 2009

I was recently given the opportunity to try out a 5-day sample of Glimpse skin care products. I will be the first to admit that I neglect myself terribly when it comes to thinks like skin care, style and fashion. Since having the last two boys back-to-back, finding the time and energy to really take [...]

The Dawn of a New Era

January 21, 2009

I know you all have been waiting for some promised reviews and a giveaway or two this week, but I’ve been dealing with the ridiculousness that is my water heater. For the past two days, I have awoken to the sound of spraying water and a flooded utility room. Hubby thought it was fixed once, [...]

When Will They Learn…

January 15, 2009

I’m pretty much the type who takes things in stride and isn’t easily offended, but our good friends at the CPSC have really stepped in it this time. They have issued the most ridiculous and cryptic “clarification” on the CPSIA and are trying to use the media and mommybloggers as scapegoats for their poorly crafted [...]
