While most of my bloggy buddies were living it up at Blissdom this weekend, I was home getting ready for K’s 3rd birthday party. As has been the theme for every major holiday for the past couple of years, it was all about Thomas the Tank Engine. Right down to a Thomas cake!
Hubby has a thing about buying cakes, so he decided we should make it by hand. We used the Thomas the Tank Engine clock he made over the summer as a model and spent 6 hrs working on it. It was a total collaborative effort and far from perfect, but I was really happy with how it came out. I took the pics before I wiped the mess from the cake board, so excuse the stray smears of icing.

Needless to say, my little Thomas nut was beside himself! The look on his face when he saw it was worth the hours of work and aggravation!

That event totally beats out BlissDom. And yes, I did have a good time there, but that conference happens every year. Babies turn 3 only once.
Ahh, so you both worked on it! Awesome job!!!!!
Awesome cake!
My son would flip out at the sight and then scream if anyone cut it. hehe
